Dr. Woods graduated from Auburn University Center for Veterinary Medicine in 1977; so he has almost forty years experience in both large and small animal practice. He also holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Alabama. After serving in the U.S. Navy as an aviator, he also did graduate work in Zoology and Entomology at Auburn University. After a number of years of practice in Large Animal Medicine, and serving the state of North Carolina in the field of Regulatory Medicine, he opened his own small animal practice. Therefore, he is well-qualified and experienced for his work here at Companion.
After coming to us in June of 2013, Doug says, “I am truly blessed by God to be included in the staff of Companion Animal Care.”
Doug and his wife, Kathryn have three grown children, Jacob, Amy Kathryn, and H. Bradley, their spouses, three grandchildren, and soon-to-be four. They also have four “grand-dogs.” He comments about his family, “We thoroughly enjoy our family time and sharing life’s situations and opportunities.”
Dr. Woods’s message to all Companion clients and potential ones, “I am looking forward to meeting each of you and all the members of your ‘animal family’.”
