Melissa graduated from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana with an Associate of science degree in Veterinary Technology. She married her high school sweetheart and travelled extensively with her spouse as he served in the military. In 2005 she and her husband Tom settled in Madison with their children and a menagerie of pets that include dogs,cats, and birds. As you can see, she is truly an animal person!
Her love for animals also extends to home as a kitten foster for Friends of Rescue. Her reason? “There’s nothing better than after a tough day than having free kitten therapy.”
Melissa says, “I knew from an early age I was going to work with animals and pursued my goal of being knowledgeable about all creatures great and small. I’m excited to share my experience with the clients of Companion Animal Care. My life motto comes from Mother Teresa, ‘I may not be able to do great things, but I can do small things with great love.'”
